Restoration
Backed by factory credentials from world-renowned makers including C. Bechstein, Steinway & Sons, Fazioli, Schimmel, Yamaha, and Julius Blüthner, alongside specialized training at Renner Academy, Precision Touch Design Academy in Europe, and Klangmanufactur, Dr. Victor Soto leads Precision Piano Craft in high-end, full-scale restoration. Dr. Soto combines master craftsmanship with elite materials to breathe new life into fine instruments.

Restringing
Over time, piano strings lose their elasticity, causing tone quality to gradually decline, often long before you notice it. While loose tuning pins are a clear sign restringing is needed, age alone dulls an instrument’s warmth and resonance after about 20 years. Restringing restores the piano’s original voice, projection, and tuning stability.
Reconditioning
Reconditioning restores a piano that hasn't had regular, complete service but still retains solid original components. We thoroughly clean the instrument, reshape and voice the original hammers, adjust the pedals and dampers, and perform precision action regulation. If needed, worn action centers are repinned or rebushed to ensure smooth touch and reliable response for years to come.

Hammerhead Installation
Installing new hammers breathes new life into an instrument, restoring its original depth, warmth, and dynamic power. To maximize durability and performance, we typically replace the shanks and flanges alongside the hammerheads, ensuring long-term structural alignment and protecting your investment.
Keytop Replacement
Age, wear, and environmental factors can cause keytops to chip, discolor, or loosen over time. Replacing worn keytops and servicing the keybed restores both the pristine appearance and smooth tactile response of your keyboard.

Pinblock Duplication

A piano’s pinblock is responsible for maintaining tight, stable tuning. Over time, wood fatigue causes tuning pins to slip, making long-term pitch stability impossible. While minor wear can sometimes be addressed with oversized pins, severe deterioration requires a custom-manufactured pinblock. We hand-craft and precision-fit each replacement pinblock to match your instrument's exact original geometry, restoring rock-solid tuning stability for decades.

Pinblock replacement requires complete restringing of the instrument.
Bridge Recapping
Because bridge recapping involves extensive precision handcrafting, it is generally reserved for fine heirloom and high-grade instruments. If a piano's bridge is intact, restoration efforts are better focused on the action components, strings, and pinblock. However, when bridge wood severely cracks along the pin line, recapping becomes essential, grafting new hardwood onto the bridge to eliminate buzzing and restore pure energy transfer to the soundboard.

Soundboard Duplication and Installation

When a soundboard suffers severe cracking, loss of crown, or irreparable structural degradation, complete duplication is required to restore the instrument’s voice. Because soundboard replacement requires a total teardown of the piano, it is typically performed alongside full restringing, pinblock duplication, and bridge recapping or manufacturing. To ensure world-class resonance and longevity, we craft our soundboards, pinblocks, and bridge caps using tonewood from renowned Canadian maker André Bolduc.
